Frequently asked questions

The details
before the sample.

Review the practical rules that apply before scope acceptance, shipping, testing, reporting, and publication.

  • Sample and shipping requirements
  • Report and COA expectations
  • Privacy, cancellation, and support routes
Do I need approval before shipping?+

Yes. Do not ship any material until Odyssey Standards confirms acceptance, assigns a submission number, and provides packing and shipping instructions. Unapproved shipments may be refused, returned, or disposed of at the sender’s cost where lawful.

How much sample is required?+

The amount depends on the matrix, analyte, selected work, number of replicates, and whether reserve material is needed. Your written scope confirms the minimum amount before shipment.

What can Odyssey Standards evaluate?+

Projects may include research peptides, raw materials, supplements, cosmetic actives, intermediates, and finished products. Acceptance depends on feasibility, legality, safety, and available methods.

What will I receive?+

The accepted scope identifies the deliverable: an analytical report, Certificate of Analysis, chromatograms, supporting data, or a combination. Not every project produces the same report package.

How long does testing take?+

Turnaround is project-specific and begins after the sample is received and accepted. Estimates can change because of method suitability, repeats, reference-material availability, instrument service, partner-lab timing, or events outside reasonable control.

Does Odyssey Standards provide medical or diagnostic testing?+

No. Odyssey Standards does not accept patient specimens, provide patient-specific results, diagnose conditions, recommend treatment, or advise on human or veterinary administration. Services are for lawful research, quality, and analytical purposes.

Will my COA be public?+

Not automatically. Public verification is enabled only if publication is included in the accepted scope or separately authorized. Private client and project information is not intentionally displayed in the public verification record.

Can I use the report in marketing?+

You may accurately reproduce an unaltered final report as allowed by the Testing Services Terms. You may not edit results, remove limitations, imply endorsement, use drafts, or suggest that Odyssey Standards approved a product, vendor, medical use, or untested lot.

What happens to unused sample material?+

Testing may consume or alter all or part of a sample. Remaining material is retained, returned, or disposed of according to the accepted scope and Sample Handling Policy. Return shipping and special disposal may carry additional charges.

Can Odyssey Standards use another laboratory?+

Yes, if the project requires specialized work. The accepted scope may authorize qualified partner laboratories or service providers. Relevant subcontracting is disclosed in the scope or report as appropriate.

Can I cancel after approval?+

You may request cancellation, but completed work, committed third-party costs, purchased standards, shipping, handling, and non-cancellable expenses remain payable. The Refund and Cancellation Policy provides more detail.

How do I report an accessibility or privacy concern?+

Use the Contact page and select Accessibility or Privacy & data request. Include enough information for us to locate the issue or record, but do not send passwords, payment-card information, patient data, or highly sensitive identifiers.
